It is true that it is not wise to depend on Google solely for your daily traffic, with flurry of updates every few months. And frankly speaking, Google supports the big businesses these days. With the increasing influence of social search in SEO, brand popularity makes the difference.

Dan @TropicalMBA thinks that expensive eBooks and audio/video courses will be gone in the near future.  Podcasting will be the new blogging method. Well, with Amazon (and several other online shopping sites) selling books at $1-7 per piece, I don’t really think that expensive books or programs will be there long. On the other hand, seminars and workshops will continue to grow, as the industry grows. Needless to say, you cannot sell a seminar on an online shopping site.

Another important factor to be playing the decisive role in future internet marketing management is …relationships! It is just how every business started and how every industry works. If you are in the industry, you need to be in the community. Or else you are going out.  Presence breeds popularity.

Chris C. Ducker of Startup & Small Business Strategies says:

I believe that Internet marketers will have to create REAL communities first, before coming out with their products. We are going back to the old days! Forget B2B and even B2C, our social landscape has turned us all onto the joys of P2P. Building a personal brand has never been more important than it is nowadays. And this new rule of thumb is certainly true for people that sell to other people that they’ve likely never met, such as Internet marketers.

Moreover, content will continue to be a crucial factor for your business branding. So, authorship is the future. You yourself will be the brand. Your blog will be another façade of your brand.

Roberto Avey of RobertoAvey.com says:

Authorship will increasingly become more important to search engines more so than just the WEBSITE, while Google continues to “hit” spammy type websites from rankings…Thus, the importance of Google+, and social media. Not what site is writing it but who is writing it, why, where and when?

And the mobile market will increase in billions by 2015. People would become tech-savvier, and so do online businesses. Information technology is going through a revolution at the moment. We are changing into cold, technical robots by the end of next century.

Aaron Parrish of Outfitter Marketing says:

Mobile mobile mobile! Marketers will have to focus on making content available on a variety of devices and take full advantage of what tablets and phones have to offer. That means mobile apps and responsive web design at the very least. If your site doesn’t look good on an iPad AND Android device, you’re leaving money on the table.

That pretty much sums the future of online marketing. Until next article.
