Recently I came across a thread on Warrior Forum, “How do I write stories with great SEO?” in Copy-writing section. It goes without saying that the guy was scratching his head on how to incorporate the strict rules of SEO in his copy writing project. Indeed, writing sales copies with great SEO is almost next to impossible. Sales copywriting per se is a hard art to master anyway. This is what one of the best SEO experts, Aaron Wall, in the world has to say about copy-writing.
If you have been closely following Google over the last few years, you know how infamous the big G is when it comes to unprecedented and sudden algorithm changes and updates. It has literally kept the webmasters running around to chase the tail of the Google SEO secret that gets you high up on the search engines results.
To put it into a list, here’s what Google SEO webmasters saw over the last few years.
2003-05-01 – “Fritz” update
2003-05-16 – “Florida” update
2007-01-25 – Google Bombs “defused” update
2009-02-20 – “Vince” update
2010-05-01 – “Mayday” update
2011-02-24 – “Panda” update
2011-05-10 – “Panda 2.1″ update
2011-06-16 – “Panda 2.2″ update (Source: ToddNemet.com)
“Google built its business on the strength of algorithms that yield speedy results. The company constantly refines those formulas, and sometimes takes manual action to penalize companies that it believes use tricks to artificially rise in search rankings. Recently, it has cracked down on retailers J.C. Penney Co. and Overstock.com Inc. Google acknowledged it “can and should do better” to beat back sites that “copy content from other websites” or provide information that is “just not very useful” but are ranked highly anyway.” (Source: Wall Street Journal)
The latest and most popular one was the Google Panda or Farmer update. It literally took the whole SEO world by storm. Enhancing the focus more on quality, it modified almost eleven percent of its SERP rankings.
Another change is coming pretty soon. Check out the video below.
Recently, I wrote how the whole method of article marketing has changed and the following video just proves that.
So what has article marketing ended up to? NOTHING!
People steal content from there. Hardly ever anyone republish your content legally. Your backlinks don’t count that much. Your direct traffic fizzle out.
Bad for article marketers indeed!
It sounds as if a great dynasty is coming down soon. To speak the truth, we fear the age of article marketing domination is going to be over soon.
Recently I was reading in a James Martell article how article marketing may soon be off the map. He has led us through a strong argument and the moral of his story was article marketing is spam. And truly it is.
Just look at the number of crap articles that are submitted in the article directories regularly. Thousands churned out from some run-of-the-mill spinning machines (as though) and vomited in these article directories. I pity them!
Well, I wanted to create a ‘top five’ or ‘best 10’ list of writing blogs (I don’t like long copies). But it was too hard since making a choice between all those awesome blogs that are out there is definitely hard. I ended up making it a Top 20 list, divided into categories that suit this site.
But I have been honest with myself and enlisted those ones which I myself like to read and follow on a regular basis.
This takes everything from content to design into account. But most importantly, I have focused on the quality of content. As a beginner, it is highly recommended that you follow them daily to increase your level of knowledge in the respected areas.
