The IHSAA bylaws mandate that high school athletes must participate in practice to be eligible to play in games. The rules state that a basketball player who misses five to 10 consecutive practice days must then attend four consecutive days of practice before playing in a game.

October 13, 2021 WAKO Sports. The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has announced a rule change for the upcoming boys and girls 2021-22 basketball season. Approved was a motion that at all levels of play and in the state tournament (except for the finals) a running clock will be initiated after the first half when one team has a lead of at least 35 points.
2008-09 IHSAA Boys & Girls Basketball Controlled Scrimmage Rules and Regulations. I. Date. Each basketball playing school may choose to participate in an inter-school controlled scrimmage after five days of practice and no later than the second calendar day prior to the first scheduled game. Only one scrimmage shall be held by a high school.
Each basketball playing school may, after five (5) days of practice and no later than two (2) days prior to the first scheduled game, choose to participate in an inter-school controlled scrimmage. You can hold only one scrimmage.
